UPSRTC boosts travel in Noida & Greater Noida with 60 new buses, connecting key destinations. Improved transport & push for online bookings to enhance commuter experience.

The Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has taken a significant step towards enhancing transport connectivity in Noida and Greater Noida by introducing 60 new buses to its fleet. These buses commenced operations on July 16, providing improved transportation options for daily commuters.

Enhanced Connectivity to Key Destinations

With the addition of the new buses, UPSRTC has strengthened its connectivity to various important destinations from Noida and Greater Noida. The newly integrated buses are facilitating travel to cities such as Lucknow, Chandausi, Bulandshahr, Dadri, Vrindavan, Etah, Haridwar, Agra, and Bijnor.

Distribution of New Buses

Out of the 60 new CNG buses received by UPSRTC on July 13, 36 have been allocated to the Noida depot, while 24 have been assigned to the Greater Noida depot. The introduction of these buses has not only enhanced the existing routes but has also led to the creation of new ones, providing better connectivity options for passengers.

Increased Passenger Traffic

With the improved availability of buses, UPSRTC has witnessed a notable surge in passenger traffic. On average, both the Noida and Greater Noida depots are now accommodating an additional 6,500 passengers each day. The Noida depot alone caters to around 5,000 passengers daily, while the Greater Noida depot serves 1,500 passengers on the new routes and buses.

New Hires to Support Expansion

To support the expansion and ensure smooth operations, the transport department has recruited 80 new drivers. These drivers have been assigned to different categories based on their experience and expertise. Category A drivers, who possess three years of accident-free roadway experience, are assigned to longer routes like Noida to Lucknow.

Encouraging Online Bookings

Despite the significant improvements in the transport network, online bookings have not yet reached their full potential. Currently, UPSRTC Noida depots receive only 20 to 25 online bookings daily, which constitutes only 40% of the buses’ capacity. To encourage more online bookings and streamline the process for passengers, UPSRTC is actively promoting its official website and ticket counters.

The introduction of these new buses and the commitment to improving transport connectivity demonstrates UPSRTC’s dedication to providing convenient and efficient travel options for the residents of Noida and Greater Noida. As passenger awareness about online booking facilities increases, the transport corporation aims to witness even higher utilization of its official website for seamless travel arrangements.
