KSRTC rolls out 19 special buses connecting Karnataka to Kerala for hassle-free Onam travel.

As the vibrant festivities of Onam approach, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has revealed a thoughtful gift for the people of Kerala residing in Karnataka. In a bid to facilitate seamless travel during the upcoming Onam holidays, KSRTC has announced the deployment of 19 special bus services connecting Karnataka to various destinations across Kerala. The move is aimed at ensuring hassle-free travel for Malayalis returning to their homeland to celebrate the joyous occasion.

Enhancing Connectivity During Onam Holidays

In light of the significant inflow of Malayalis heading back to Kerala to participate in the Onam celebrations, the KSRTC has taken the initiative to operate 19 special bus services on August 25. This step aims to cater to the surge in travel demand during the holiday season and ensure safe and comfortable journeys for passengers. The KSRTC is also considering the possibility of introducing additional bus services in the days leading up to the festivities.

Diverse Destinations for Onam Travelers

The special bus services are set to operate from the Satellite and Shanthi Nagar Bus Depots in Bengaluru. Commuters will have the convenience of choosing from a range of destinations in Kerala, including Kannur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, and Kottayam. This diverse network of routes will cater to the preferences and travel needs of passengers, making their journeys more convenient and enjoyable.

Discounts for Group and Round-Trip Bookings

To add an extra layer of savings for passengers during the holiday season, the KSRTC has introduced discounts for group bookings. Passengers booking four or more tickets simultaneously will be eligible for a 5% discount on their fares. Moreover, travelers can avail themselves of a generous 10% discount on the return ticket if they choose to book a round-trip journey. These discounts are designed to enhance affordability for families and groups traveling together to celebrate Onam.

Reciprocal Gesture from Kerala RTC

On the flip side, the Kerala Road Transport Corporation (RTC) has also announced its own set of special bus services to accommodate the influx of travelers during the Onam holidays. A total of ten special bus services will be operational from August 24 to 27. This reciprocal move is reflective of the cooperative spirit between the neighboring states and their commitment to ensuring a smooth travel experience for their residents.
