The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is gearing up to facilitate the influx of devotees expected to attend the Medaram Jatara, hailed as the largest tribal fair in Asia. With the deployment of 6,000 special buses, TSRTC aims to ensure seamless transportation during the event.

Medaram Jatara TSRTC Special Bus Services Operational

  • Scheduled from February 21 to 24, the Medaram Jatara anticipates a surge in devotee numbers.
  • To accommodate the increased demand, special bus services will be operational from February 18 to 25.

Medaram Jatara Ministerial Inspection and Review

  • Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Minister Ms. Seethakka inspected TSRTC arrangements.
  • The officials reviewed various facilities including ticket-issuing counters, bus parking points, and queue railings spanning 55 acres at Medaram.
  • A review meeting with TSRTC officials took place at the Haritha Hotel in Medaram, following the inspection.
  • Ministers emphasized the need for meticulous arrangements to ensure a hassle-free experience for devotees.

TSRTC Medaram Jatara Preparations

  • TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar acknowledged the success of the Mahalakshmi scheme, which provides free travel facility for women, with 14.50 crore beneficiaries.
  • The TSRTC base camp in Medaram will commence operations on February 16, accommodating approximately 14,000 RTC staff who will fulfill their duties during the fair.
  • Special measures are underway to provide accommodation and food for the staff.
  • Anticipating around 30 lakh devotees, TSRTC plans to provide buses based on traffic patterns, identifying 51 traffic-generating points across districts like Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Adilabad.
  • Mulugu Collector Ila Tripathi, SP Sabharish, Additional Collector Sreeja, and various officials from TSRTC were present during the inspection and review.
