The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) introduces an exclusive ‘Metro Express Ladies Special’ bus to cater to the needs of women IT employees in Hyderabad’s bustling IT corridor. With around 5 lakh employees working in IT companies and a significant number of women commuting between JNTU and Wave Rock, TSRTC aims to provide hassle-free transportation for these passengers during office hours.

Exclusive Bus Service for Women IT Employees

  • An exclusive ‘Metro Express Ladies Special’ bus service will operate between JNTU and Wave Rock, catering to the IT corridor in Hyderabad.
  • The decision comes in response to the needs of women passengers for a convenient and comfortable journey during office hours.
  • The pilot project aims to enhance transportation facilities for women working in the IT sector.

Route and Schedule

  • The ‘Metro Express Ladies Special bus will run through Forum/Nexus Mall, Hitec City, Mindspace, Raidurg, Bio Diversity Park, Gachibowli ‘X’ road, Indira Nagar, IIT ‘X’ road, Wipro Circle, and ICICI Towers.
  • The service will commence on July 31, with the bus leaving JNTU towards Wave Rock at 9.05 am and returning from Wave Rock to JNTU at 5.50 pm daily.
  • Senior RTC officials state that additional services will be introduced based on the response and demand for the bus trips on this route.

Growing Demand and Future Prospects

The decision to introduce this exclusive service follows requests from IT employees residing in various areas like Bachupally, ECIL, Uppal, Medchal, Shamirpet, and Medipally, among others, seeking better connectivity to the IT Corridor.

With the ‘Metro Express Ladies Special,’ TSRTC aims to provide women IT employees with a safe, convenient, and efficient commuting experience, acknowledging their significant contributions to the IT sector and ensuring their comfort during daily travel. The pilot project will pave the way for potential expansion in response to growing demand from the city’s tech workforce.
