MSRTC expands E-Shivai electric bus service to Nashik route, reinforcing eco-conscious public transportation.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) continues its stride towards sustainable transportation solutions, as it introduces its pioneering E-Shivai electric bus service on the Nashik route. Following the successful launch of the Pune-Ahmednagar and Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar routes, the expansion comes as a significant development in the state’s eco-friendly transit initiatives.

E-Shivai Service Takes Flight

In an impressive leap towards reducing its carbon footprint and embracing eco-conscious practices, the MSRTC Pune division has unveiled the expansion of its E-Shivai electric bus service to include new destinations. This progressive step is marked by the addition of sixteen E-Shivai buses to the Pune division fleet.

Key Highlights

Pune-Nashik Route Inauguration: The newly integrated E-Shivai electric buses have made their debut on the Pune-Nashik route, commencing operations on August 11. This marks a significant milestone in the expansion of sustainable transport offerings.

Future Route Expansion: The MSRTC’s green transport endeavors are not confined to Pune-Nashik alone. In the coming days, the E-Shivai service is set to extend its reach to the Solapur and Kolhapur routes, signifying the corporation’s commitment to expanding eco-friendly transportation across Maharashtra.

“E-Shivai” Phase-Wise Rollout: With a visionary outlook, the MSRTC envisions the induction of around 5,000 e-buses in a phase-wise manner under the banner of “E-Shivai.” This multi-phase approach underscores the corporation’s dedication to transitioning towards sustainable mobility.

Nashik-Pune Connection: Kailash Patil, Divisional Controller of MSRTC Pune, highlighted that the Pune-Nashik route had already witnessed the successful operation of Shivneri buses under the name “Jan-Shivneri,” emphasizing the seamless integration of green alternatives into existing transit offerings.

Dual Division Operation: The deployment of E-Shivai buses on the Pune-Nashik route is evenly distributed between the two divisions, with eight buses originating from each division. This equitable distribution enhances accessibility and convenience for travelers on both ends of the route.

As MSRTC demonstrates its steadfast commitment to eco-friendly transportation solutions, the expansion of E-Shivai electric buses to the Nashik route stands as a testament to the corporation’s efforts to create a cleaner, greener future for public transportation in Maharashtra.
